Stock Exchange Sites

According to recent study, one of the most frequented website pages with the maximum number of hits are those of the stock exchange sites, depending on whether they are national or regional stock exchanges. Did you know that the oldest stock exchange of the world is the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, later renamed as Amsterdam Bourse? While it was established in 1602 by the Dutch East India Company, we have come a long way from there. The online presence of mostly all stock exchanges and advent of information technology has revolutionized the processes of trading, of buying and selling, of the mode of interaction and even of payment.

Technology has not only made the nature of transaction and interaction global, but it has also removed many fraudulences and made it less broker-controlled. Today, most of the leading stock exchange sites of the world are a fully automated trading system.

Stock exchange sites might have made the process of trading global, more transparent and fast, changing with every click of the button. All that the investor needs to do is to open an online account with a stock market broker or dealer. In such case, the shares are dematerialized forms, which get transferred directly to an account. Moreover, it has given better control and more transparency to the investor.

Most of the national stock exchange sites have their own terms and conditions, trading system architecture and mode of conduct. Some of the leading stock exchange sites are those of New York Stock Exchange, Australian Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange, The Philippine Stock Exchange, Swiss Exchange, Bombay Stock Exchange, Toronto Stock Exchange and Istanbul Stock Exchange. The NYSE Group has the largest share in terms of its market value, according to the World Federation of Exchanges.

Besides these, there are also several other stock exchange sites of African, European, Asian, Australian, Middle Eastern, North American and South American countries. One needs to consider, however, the time zone, trading hours and national holidays, for there are stock exchanges open at any point of time in the world. The internet is again an useful place to search information regarding the same.
